Producer

Lawrence wears many hats.

In film, he co-produced Sex Is…, a feature-length documentary with director Marc Huestis (Best Gay Film, Berlin International Film Festival, 1993) and has worked on feature films as an assistant editor (Brighton Beach Memoirs). That Man: Peter Berlin is his current producing honor.

For years he worked at a film production house lining up foreign language tracks for syndicated TV shows such as I Love Lucy, Gunsmoke, Petticoat Junction, and too many others to mention.

As a publicist, he promotes theatre, music, and dance events in San Francisco-working with Theatre Rhinoceros, Brava Theatre Center, Kung Pao Kosher Comedy, the star-studded AIDS fundraisers Help Is On The Way, Dance Brigade, RAPT Dance Company, and others. He has also done PR for The Plush Room (Paula West, Amanda McBroom, Eric Comstock, Faith Winthrop, Billy Philadelphia, Meg Mackay, and others).

As a producer, Lawrence has produced Cabaret at the Herbst starring Tony Award-winner Christine Ebersole, Claiborne Cary, and Maureen McVerry (February, 2000). He also produced CD release concerts for singers Paula West and Shane Kelly.

With Marc Huestis, Lawrence has co-produced many evenings of celebritude at San Francisco's Castro Theatre including Carol Lynley with The Poseidon Adventure, Sylvia Miles in Heat, and Ann-Margaret with Viva Las Vegas. He has worked on Passport for Macy's in San Francisco and Los Angeles, and is the coordinator of special events for the San Francisco Jewish Film Festival. To top it all off, he does catering and event planning through his company One Fine Day.
